Jonathan Brazee

Writer
North Las Vegas, Nevada
Jonathan Brazee is a retired Marine infantry colonel and now a full-time writer living in North Las Vegas, Nevada, with his wife Kiwi and twin baby girls Danika Dawn and Darika Marie. His writing career started in 1978 with “Secession,” a science fiction story published in Labyrinth Magazine, but as a Marine, he published non-fiction in a variety of subjects.

While stationed in Iraq in 2006, he had to curtail his running (a little thing like people shooting at you can be a deterent) so he used his free time to write his first novel, "The Few." It had limited success until he put it up as an eBook in 2012, and sales took off. Now, he is a hybrid writer with emphasis on self-published works and has over 70 fiction titles in military science fiction, military fiction, paranormal, and historical fiction. He is a two-time Nebula Award and one-time Dragon Award finalist.

Jonathan’s undergraduate degree was earned at the U. S. Naval Academy (Class of 1979), and he attended graduate school at U. S. International University and the University of California, San Diego, earning a masters and doctorate.

He is a member of the Disabled American Veterans, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the US. Naval Academy Alumni Association, and the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America. He is the chairman of SFWA's Professional Education Committee.

Jonathan has rather eclectic tastes. He’s won awards in photography, cooking, writing, and several sports, earning national championships in rugby and equestrian events. When he isn’t writing or taking care of the twins, he’s reading, hitting the gym, cooking, and traveling.
